Aromas of hand-picked, perfectly ripe peaches and fresh summer melon are accented with a nice crisp citrus flavor. A pleasant fruit-forward wine with a good acidity and balance. Enjoy upon release, slightly chilled.
Winemaker Bill Anderson has been producing Château Julien Pinot Grigio since the 1998 vintage. Cold fermented using Pris de Mousse yeast and bottled directly from stainless steel tanks six months after harvest, this wine is consistently clean and straightforward upon release. Produced from grapes grown 100% in local Monterey County AVA, selected carefully for complexity, balance and consistency. The Vintage We had budbreak a little later than usual this year due to the cold weather dormancy. The spring however brought intense heat during berry enlargement stage, leading to smaller berries, reduced cluster weight and ultimately more concentrated flavors. As harvest approached in late August, we experienced an average cluster count, with a lower yield due to small berry size.
