The winery’s only rose wine, Sangiovese Rosato, was produced from grapes solely harvested from the vineyard at the Estate in Carmel Valley. Two acres of the 5-acre vineyard is thinned specifi cally for the Rosato, with slightly larger berries/clusters that ultimately result in a lower sugar and higher acidity. Hand harvested, immediately crushed and pressed, this wine is fermented cold to just over 3% residual sugar and held in stainless steel tanks until bottling in the winter. Vintage A cold spring slightly delayed vine development at the beginning of the 2009 growing season, and was followed by warm temperatures and variable weather through the bloom period. An extended warm period in late August and early September ultimately advanced grape maturation, and the bulk of the harvest was done during September and October prior to rains. Yields were close to average. Winemaker Notes An exquisitely pretty, bright rose color wine with a fresh aroma and hint of residual sugar. Wonderfully refreshing, it is packed full of ripe strawberry flavors with lively citrus overtones. Sip on a warm, sunny day or pair with a light Sunday brunch. Enjoy upon release, slightly chilled.
