The Château Julien Gewürztraminer grapes have been harvested from the same vineyard since its first bottling over a decade ago. Cold fermented using Steinberger Yeast, known for its slow fermentation, allows the winemaker the ability to maintain natural varietal fl avor and a slight residual sugar. While semi-dry in fl avor, this wines slightly higher acidity balances the residual sugar for a refreshing, lighter style of wine. Vintage A cold spring slightly delayed vine development at the beginning of the 2009 growing season, and was followed by warm temperatures and variable weather through the bloom period. An extended warm period in late August and early September ultimately advanced grape maturation, and the bulk of the harvest was done during September and October prior to rains. Yields were close to average. Winemaker Notes A refreshing, fruity wine reminiscent of freshly cut grapefruit complemented with a nice hint of spice. Its fl oral nose, bit of acidity and spice overtones, make it a wonderful accompaniment to authentic Thai cuisine or fl avorful Chinese dishes. Enjoy upon release, slightly chilled.
