Winemaker Bill Anderson has been producing Château Julien Pinot Grigio since the 1998 vintage. Cold fermented using Pris de Mousse yeast and bottled directly from stainless steel tanks six months after harvest, this wine is consistently clean and straightforward upon release. Produced from grapes grown 100% in local Monterey County AVA, selected carefully for complexity, balance and consistency.

The Vintage
Vintage 2010 was one of extremes. The growing season began slow, with welcomed ample rainfall followed by a cool spring, delayed bud break and shoot growth. Late heat spikes after a long, cool summer helped the vines play catch up. Ultimately we harvested two to three weeks later than average. Much attention was given to the cool and wet conditions, with canopy, grape cluster and the leaf thinning throughout the growing season to keep the
fruit dry. The extended ripening period should result in highly concentrated flavors.

Winemaker Notes
Fresh summer melon and floral aromas of sun basked honeysuckles are accented with a nice crisp citrus fl avor.
A pleasant fruit-forward wine with a good acidity and balance. Enjoy upon release, slightly chilled.
